Ms. Joyce Mizer is the Director of the Suzuki Institute. She has degrees from James Madison University and the Sherwood School of Music of Chicago. Joyce has taught in both public and private schools and served as an associate professor of music at Bridgewater College in Virginia. She was a guest artist at the Pentagon, Washington, DC as organist. Joyce is a band and orchestra conductor, of which her most renowned was The United States Air Force Band, Col. Arnold D. Gabriel, Commander. She adjudicates orchestra, band, solo and ensemble festivals throughout the southeast. Joyce is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and a registered teacher with the National Music Certificate Program. She has been a member in good standing with the National Education Association.

Maria Kurzynska is a graduate of the Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan (Poland), where she was a student of harpsichord in the class of Professor Flatau, who, in turn, was a pupil of the famous Wanda Landowska. Maria also attended master courses with the Chech harpsichord virtuoso Z. Ruzickova in Prague. For a number of years she taught courses in harpsichord, piano, and accompaniment at the Poznan Lyccum of Music. In the countrywide Polish Competition of wind instruments, she was recognized for her outstanding skills as an accompanist. Ms. Kurzynska now resides and works in Sarasota Florida. She teaches piano and harpsichord at the Suzuki Institute School of Music as well as leads her own baroque ensemble, "Tre Voci". Maria is a registered teacher with the National Music Certificate Program.

Bobbi Morgan graduated from Hope College in Holland, Mich. with a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology, and from Trinity Christian College in Chicago, Ill. with her teaching certification. She acquired her Child Development Associate degree at Manatee Community College and her early childhood music training at the University of Miami and Wheaton College through MusikGarten. She is a member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association and currently teaches the Preschool Choir at First Baptist Church in downtown Sarasota. She has taught early childhood music at First Presbyterian Preschool, Circle of Friends, European Academy and the Pinnacle Academy.

Nikki Lachambre moved to Sarasota from Kingston, Jamaica in 1999. In Jamaica, she studied piano performance with Barbara Lloyd at the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts and earned several piano certificates from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Since moving to Florida, she continued her piano studies with Naomi Niskala at the University of South Florida and earned her degree in piano with an emphasis on music history. Nikki became a member of the Music Teachers National Association along with its State and local affiliates and began teaching piano flute, and music theory/composition in Sarasota in 2003. She is also a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs along with its State and local affiliates, and a Certified Musikgarten Instructor. Nikki is a registered teacher with the National Music Certificate Program, a judge for Festival, an instrumentalist with the Incarnation Folk Group, Executive Board Member of the Sarasota Teachers Music Association and Gold Cup Chairperson for Seminole District.

Katie Ridgeway is a registered violin instructor with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the National Music Certificate Program. Katie's post graduate studies include books 1-8 teacher training at the Chicago Suzuki Institute, as well as books 1-6 with Ronda Cole. Katie earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University and her Master of Music Performance degree from Indiana University where she studied with Mimi Zweig. Mrs. Ridgeway has taught orchestra, general music and violin in both private and public schools. In recent years she has performed with the Naples Philharmonic, The Florida Orchestra, and has been concertmaster of the North Port Orchestra for three seasons. She currently performs with the Sarasota Symphony Orchestra and teaches at the Suzuki Institute.

We are happy to announce that Nicole Rawley will be joining our violin staff in August. She comes to us from Greenville, North Carolina. She was chosen from a number of applicants to become a member of the Suzuki Institute School of Music Staff. Nicole has been teaching since 2000. Her experiences include Green County Public Schools, a private studio and , Director of Strings Pre-K through 4th grade at the Oakwood School. She organizes performances, recitals and field trips. She has also been an orchestra conductor. She is currently the Concert Master of the Pitt Community College Symphony. Her memberships include: - Suzuki Association of the Americas

Laura Miller received a Bachelor of Sacred Music from Florida Southern College with a concentration in voice and piano. She has served as a pianist in church and teaches both voice and piano at the Institute. She has instructed with the Florida West Coast Children’s Chorus as well. In addition to instructing at the Institute, Laura is also on the staff at the First United Methodist Church. Laura is a registered teacher with the National Music Certificate Program

Dr. Jane Hoffman was a faculty member at Humboldt University in California for eight years, teaching flute, coaching chamber music, flute choir, theory and beginning woodwinds.
She holds degrees from College of the Redwoods, Eureka, CA; Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA; a Master's Degree from Cal State, Northridge; and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from SUNY Stony Brook, NY. Dr. Hoffman is former director of The Hecht School of Music, Sarasota, Florida, and recently a faculty member of Interlochen Center of the Arts, Michigan, Jane teaches students on flute, clarinet, recorder and saxophone.
